And by pigeons I don’t mean women. I mean actual pigeons. Are they protected by the state or something? I wouldn’t think so. It’s not the state bird nor on the verge of extinction. I ask because, I think I’m going to kill one or maybe three.

A few weeks ago some pigeons decided to make a home or hang out spot on my porch which is right by the window near my bed. They wake me up every morning, crap all over the porch, and even go as far as walking on freshly painted furniture. To make a long story short, they go out and get wasted off tequila shots and weed crackers far too often and come back making way too much noise. I’m considering loading my paintball guns and going straight up mobster on them. Their trying me.

Just updating you all on the daily struggles in my life.

G.Y.T

Image via Wikipedia

Get Yourself Tested. I hear this on the radio every single morning and afternoon during my rage provoking commute. I believe it’s geared towards HIV/AIDS and while that is the most dangerous, I’d rather not have any STD. Call me crazy, but whether it’s curable or not is of no relevance to me - I don’t want it. No thank you, you can keep that, that’s yours. Hearing it daily makes me wonder why people don’t get tested. What’s so hard about it? Is it laziness, shame, fear, unavailability, inaccessibility, or plain ignorance? Spreading intentionally is against the law, but spreading without a clue isn’t any better.

Before even getting to the part where we should get tested, there’s a crucial step that seems to be missing. A step that many seem to ignore. The step is called using your brain. Certainly you can’t tell who has what just by looking at a person. And certainly there are far too many unsuspecting victims who catch something from their one-and-only lover of many years. However, there are plenty of others who are simply reckless. Let’s face it, it’s not rocket science. No calculus 3 formula required to tell if someone is probably a non-profit prostitute (that’s polite for hoe and man-whore). Unprotected sex with a perfect stranger or someone you KNOW gets around. Why for? Because it feels better raw? No shit it feels better raw, what are you 12-years-old?

Question. Did no one else take some type of adult living class in high school? At age 15 I knew to say no to <strike>crack</strike> any random chick who wanted to get on my spaceship without using a spacesuit. Why do grown ups not know this? Shit, for me those classes were like the Scared Straight of sex. My 3 biggest fears in life are burning to death, touching a possum, and getting rust on my tool from improper care - if you know what I mean.

Be smart. Bust a nut. Get Tested. Be merry.

It took me about 16 years to crack. I never watched it before because when I was 12 I thought the movie was fairly questionable and probably boring. I carried that notion with me for years. As an aspiring writer I convinced myself that I needed to break out of my shell and explore all successful movies. I’m 28 now and after watching it I realized that at age 12 I was far beyond my years. Pure genius, my suspicions were correct.

Say what you want, but I couldn’t see myself going around biting children and men in the neck period, never mind doing it passionately. I’ve seen many vampire movies and unless feelings of the heart were involved, there was always some aggression in the neck-biting. This was all neck-biting with a hint of love.

Fyi, vampires aren’t real. That being said, if my statement above upset you and your argument is that I wouldn’t be able to control the blood lust or something to that effect… You have several mental issues and watch too much Twilight. Get help, the world will be a better place.

Anyway, not only did I find it questionable, it was also boring. I fell sleep with much anger inside me. Two hours of my life gone forever.

No thanks. A female's perspective.

Some time ago I fell into a particular age bracket. A bracket in which I’m now fortunate enough to be surrounded by engagements, marriages, and more importantly what seems to be a non-stop introduction of new life to this world (some by folks I don’t think should be allowed to reproduce, but that’s another post). Oh, and by fortunate I mean shoot me - please.

With that in mind, it’s rare that I find a responsible adult in my age group who has no interest in having children - ever. To my surprise I found two people. What really <strike></strike>surprised me more than the Heat losing <chuckles>, was that it wasn’t two men. I found a male and female.

While I’m waiting for the male to send me his reasons so I can write a full post, I decided to share a few of the female’s:

Children are not cheap, you have to pay for everything from clothes to education.

From the moment children are born they take up all of your time. Your time is no longer yours, your life and time will revolve around your children and their schedule.

Without kids you can go out with your husband/significant and your friends, wherever you want and whenever.

Please note the title says “A female’s” perspective, not “the female” perspective.

The Experiment

Image via Wikipedia

After letting it sit on my Netflix instant queue for months, I finally decided to watch this movie. Why? Because Spartacus is actin’ up and toying with my emotions. Anyway, if you’re into psychological thrillers, check it out.

Here’s what really made me post this. Have you ever watched a movie and thought that the actor played his/her role a little bit too well? That’s how I felt about Forest Whitaker in this movie. I’m convinced in real life, as supposed to fake life, the man is out of his mind. I mean walk backwards and converse with oxygen out of his mind. Either that or he deserves a few more awards.

Long posts preaching to insecure men about what a real man does or does not do. It’s getting tired. Any dick with a keyboard and internet access can list how they go about life and swear that’s what a real man does. Act like it’s gospel when it’s really all bullshit with a pocket full of expensive words.

There’s no intricate list on what real men do. It’s just basic principles. Take care of ALL your responsibilities, know right from wrong, and stay true to yourself and what you believe in. Very simple and coincidentally a “real woman” follows the same principles. Easy.

"When you come to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on.”

If you aren’t familiar with this title, the latest internet buzz is a controversial article from Psychology Today titled, “Why Black Women Are Less Physically Attractive Than Other Women.” It has since been pulled, however, you can read it here.

When I first saw the title I didn’t immediately produce a generic response such as, “Damn that’s Ignorant!” I’ve unfortunately been desensitized by several ridiculous “Black people are less…” articles. Most of which aren’t even worthy of being called articles. This time around I admit I was a little surprised someone with a PhD even wrote about such a shallow subject, but was looking forward to reading the supporting scientific facts.

I wish I didn’t read it. Not because it was offensive, but because it was boring and lame. I’m far from being a scientist or evolutionary psychologist yet even I know that you need some strong supporting facts before making any statements, especially those that are race related. Without that, you are left with a silly idea.

Aside from the author’s poorly written article and lack of documentation, I don’t understand why polls were taken on this subject anyway. At least use grown-up graphs next time. Anyway, who cares? Where’s the relevance and what does it change? In addition, it’s an obvious matter of opinion. It’s as useful as a poll about which taste better, white grapes or red? What’s even less useful is an article from a Dr. Nobody trying to explain why.

The good news is that fortunately there are other evolutionary psychologists who apply logic. I couldn’t have written a better response and now I don’t have to. I’ve been running around all morning long and finally the day is over for me. Well, my responsibilities for the day are over I should say. I can now exercise my right to do absolutely nothing and have fun doing it.

My last event for the day was my nephew’s belt ceremony. He’s now a green belt, watch out 2nd graders. The most interesting part of the ceremony was the demonstration at the end. The instructors broke wood planks, cement blocks, and baseball bats.
